The beams usually play a load-bearing role. In spacious living rooms, there are often very visible beams that cannot be removed or changed. Not only does this detract from the aesthetics of the living room, but it also gives a "bundle on top" feel. It's a huge headache when it comes to decorating. So is there any way to make the beam look more beautiful?

A simpler way is to hide the beam. This method requires two conditions to be met:

1. Sufficient floor height: If the floor height is not particularly high, the beam will make the space feel depressed, which is not suitable for this method.

2. Sufficient budget: The budget for the entire renovation of the beam will definitely be higher than the budget for part of the ceiling, so you must be mentally prepared.

There are two ways to incorporate beams into the ceiling:

1. If the position of the beam is exactly on the circumference, you can only make the surrounding circular ceiling, which is much simpler and cheaper than the whole ceiling. In addition, the surrounding annular ceiling does not occupy floor height, which is especially friendly for apartment types with insufficient floor height.

2. If the beam is in the middle of the space, you can try to make multiple fake beams of the same material and match them together. It can be made into parallel lines or a grid pattern to reduce the abrupt feel of real beams, but not too many to avoid being too heavy.

If the beam happens to be at the intersection of the living room and other spaces, you can solve it with a very simple method - use the beam as a divider design between the two spaces. The beams are used directly as ceiling partitions, and by treating them visually, there is no need to make the ceiling separately, saving space and money.

Using beams to make doors: This method is especially suitable for rustic home designs. Putting a beam into a door inevitably takes up some space height, but a rustic, bright color can effectively take that stress away. It works better if you use a tile or wood fence.

In addition, beams in different positions may have different effects, which are briefly listed below.

1. The beam is on the edge: This beam will not generate pressure, so it can be left blank without affecting daily life.

2. Try to avoid the positions of beams, such as sofas, coffee tables, etc. If you can't avoid them completely, please don't face them.

3. Putting one or two pots of dense plants in the space with beams can also effectively relieve the pressure caused by the top of the beams.
